I purchased the URL "literallybound" on June 19, 2010 and it took me 2 weeks to put up the 1st post. What a way I have come since then.
I have been looking back and I can honestly say, a wandering path I have traveled. Not that he knows I exist, but I blame Rowan McBride for all of it. lol.
I'm a portal jumper. You gaming geeks will get the reference. I see a portal, a mob or just something shiney and I have GOT to check it out.
One of my chat friends had mentioned an author she thought I would like, so I hopped over to Rowan's site. He was chatting about his admiration of this guy named Sean who runs BuffMuscles. I didn't know what the heck BuffMuscles was so I jumped on over.
Now I had heard of blogs, but I had never really visited any. In my head, blogs were these dry, boring places where needy people whined about things that didn't matter. Oops.
Sean's blog was pretty cool. Pics of BIG, muscley (is that a word?) guys and some stories. Sweet. The guys were a little uniform in their hugeness but hey, still nice to visit.
This same week Sean just happened to mention his BFF Kip and Kip's since Googlemonstered blog BeautifulMen4U. MUCH better and look, over on the side, shiney links...
Around this time I had contact with author Beth Wylde who was running a monthlong Pride chat on her Yahoo group. I got to talking with a bunch of authors and editors and they were lamenting the fact that no one likes to review BDSM or D/s books.
I started jumping up and down....umm, HELLO, over here....
So this blog was started with the best of intentions, as a review site for gay erotica...and the wandering began.
I am someone whose technological proficiency would make a cat howl with laughter. I was doing reviews on Amazon (super easy) but I couldn't figure out what the heck I was doing here. At the same time I was visiting Kip's site and being a general nuisance to him. Ok, I was being stalkerly (another word I made up) but Kip took it all in good humour.
I was getting my feet wet. A couple of the authors from the Pride chat were my 1st and only followers for about a month. Then Kip, cracking up over all my stalker comments and general silliness, gave me a boost. He did a two day shout on his blog with all the leather pics I had sent him and linked to me. WOW.
Now I had followers, but what do I do with them? I panicked and tossed up pics. It worked.
I was still reading for reviews everyday but the blogosphere was calling. Soon I was making friends and in blog-hopping heaven.
Many of you have found niches you love, but I am a fickle creature. I am never sure what I am going to post from one day to the next.
Some days I love the burly bears, some days muscleheads. Commercial models do make appearances here, as do gentle beauties and men in kilts (hard to find). Most of all I love the leather daddies and fit men in various forms of lingerie (VERY hard to find).
Though I still haven't figured out how to tag or do anything but the most basic of posts, somehow I have gathered a nice group of peeps who are willing to hang around. Okay, maybe you're all waiting for the crash and burn spectacular, I don't know. ;)
What I do know is that you guys have made this a great year and I can't wait to see what the next year will bring.
