Rally for a Veteran

Some friends of mine just found out about some problems a local Vietnam Veteran is having with his neighbors.

The guy is disabled, in a wheelchair. His son, who owns a construction company, wanted to update dad's house with a ramp in the front and handicapped bathrooms. The neighbors immediately began complaining about the work in progress.

Dad and son were dealing with that issue. Then the son began putting down the foundation for a flagpole so his dad could put up an American flag. The neighbors showed up and said if he put up the flagpole, they were going to chain it to a truck and pull it down.

Needless to say, the son was upset. He went to his buddy who happens to run a disabled veteran's support group. The man who runs the group belongs to a local MC. He called his buddies in the local clubs to stage a rally in support of the vet and the media to keep things on an even keel.

So far 4 clubs have committed to the ralley. I put them in contact with some people in San Diego and it is growing from there. Anyone who is MC/HA friendly is welcome to join the rally, here in the Sacramento area on 4/22/11. Send me an email and I will shoot you the details.

I don't know why people have to be so mean and uptight (in this case, the neighbors). I hope the rally goes really well! Jim
P.S. I'd be there but I'm in I'm just sending well wishes :)
