Role Play

I have to admit that roleplaying is something I really love to do. I have a slew of shoes, clothing and accessories that I can put together to make up the most interesting characters.

I bring this up because I love to discuss sex and erotica. When the subject is opened by someone, I speak my mind. There are many people out there who want to have these kinds of conversations and few that are actually ready to have them.  The number of people who take offense with roleplay simply astounds me.

It's important to remember this is a game. One I and many others have chosen to play with partners we have chosen to play with. Things can appear to be unsafe or out of hand, but really, we have already scripted the basic outline and now are just filling in the blanks.

*leaves her soapbox now...

Jaye Valentine, co-author of Little Japan (loved that book, will talk about it in the near future) asked me if I had read the short story Firecracker. He said it was different but since I like Little Japan, he expected I would like this story as well.

The whole story revolved around roleplay and it was fantastic! A dedicated couple keeping their sex alive and kinky by indulging in seriously outrageous scenarios.

What really made the book for me was the obvious love between the couple and the fact that no matter the situation, the safety of the vulnerable partner was always the primary concern. These two men were having fun with their sexlife and it was a great story to read.

So I believe that anyone who loves a good book should love good roleplay. Tell me what you think.

Does being an intelligent reader enhance the choices you make in the bedroom?

How's your fantasy life?
